Historical Apologetics

This web blog page is dedicated to presenting facts and information concerning History, the way it really happened and what actually took place. There are many evidences of Christianity and the existence of Jesus Christ from both Biblical and non-biblical sources. Here is an excellent page to go to, that has some of the non biblical sources of people who made reference to Jesus’ existence during that time period: http://carm.org/non-biblical-accounts-new-testament-events-andor-people           Here is another one, very similar: http://www.rationalchristianity.net/jesus_extrabib.html

Here is a quote from Tacitus, who lived from around A.D.55-A.D.117: “Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular.”

I will post information about History and update as often as I can. I will also add resources as I find them. Feel free to contribute, but I do ask that there be no divisive arguing or name calling. I understand people can get emotional at times when there are opposing view points. Please be kind in your posts and responses and maintain self-control. We can learn a lot from each other and I hope that ends up happening here on this blog page.
